I can't even believe that I shot these pictures today!!  I had heard there was an iceberg close by, but I was not expecting it to be this big!  Driving out towards Cape Spear, you could see it from the road approaching Blackhead.  I went down into the tiny community as far as you could drive, walked out as close to the shore as I could and snapped these unbelievable shots of the breathtaking berg.  It is really something to see up close.  Aptly named "Iceberg Alley", Newfoundland is one of the few places on earth where you can get such a remarkable view of the icebergs as they travel south from Greenland.  It's crazy to think that they are actually pieces of glaciers that have broken off, and that the ice could be more than 15 000 years old!
