Janet and David are living in Calgary but came back home to get married in Newfoundland. It was overcast and foggy.. a typical Newfoundland summer day, but I don’t mind that one bit. Actually, I think it adds a wonderful atmosphere to the photos! I hope you enjoy them. I had a great time with you guys, and I wish you all the best!!
 
This past June, I offered a series of workshops at both the beginner and advanced levels.
I had a tremendous response from you guys, and both workshops were a great success!
The first workshop – Nate Gates Photography Basics – focused on the fundamentals of SLR operation.. how to use your camera!
In the second workshop – Nate Gates Advanced Photography – we delved more into lighting, composition, and post processing techniques.
On day 2 of the advanced workshop, we had a wonderful model, Katie, who allowed me to demonstrate some natural lighting techniques indoors, and then we headed out to Middle Cove for a shoot on the beach.
I would like to share with you now some of my images from the shoot, as well as my favourites from some of the people in the class. Awesome work, guys!!

I am crazy busy these days - in the thick of wedding season, and still shooting portraits and other projects on the weekdays. There is not enough time in the day.. on Earth.. in my life.. so I simply cannot Blog everything I shoot. It’s just not possible. However, I will try to squeeze in as much as I can! Sooo.. here is a preview of little Berlin! She is the sweetest little one year old ever!!

Sonia and Chris had a beautiful day for their wedding! The sun smiled on us, the bride and groom were glowing, and the bridal party was a complete riot!! I had a lot of fun with you guys, and I am excited to share these photos with you! Enjoy!
